OIC to discuss Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Nagorno-Karabakh problem will be discussed at the seventh session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which will be held in the Indonesian city of Palembang on January 25 - January 31. Deputy Chairman of the Civil Solidarity Party Sabir Rustamkhanli represents Azerbaijan in OIC.

Rustamkhanli, who is a member of the political committee of OIC Parliamentary Assembly, noted that important issues will discussed at the seventh session, Civil Solidarity Party told Trend.

Specialized committees on politics, economics, law, human rights, and environment, committees on social and cultural issues included in the Parliamentary Assembly will discuss the issues that concern Islamic world.

Rustamkhanli said, special attention will be paid to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem at the session, which will seek ways to strengthen the dialogue between the Islamic states and parliaments of Western countries.

"OIC was always sensitive to the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and it is expected the adoption of the draft resolution on military aggression against Azerbaijan and the Armenian occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh," Rustamkhanli said.
