French Senate Constitutional Commission opposes “Armenian genocide” bill

The Constitutional Commission of the French Senate took a decision against consideration of a bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called "Armenian genocide", TRT Haber reported on Wednesday.

The decision was taken by 23 votes for and 9 votes against. According to the decision, the bill will be considered by the Senate, however, the Constitutional Commission's decision will be taken into account prior to overall voting.

 Lower Chamber of the French Parliament adopted a bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called "Armenian genocide".
