Azerbaijan launched the process of specifying a single list of voters, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said today.
According to the Electoral Code, a single list of voters is initially specified by the precinct election commissions. The precinct election commission will specify the list of voters within the polling station.
The election commissions must submit these lists to the appropriate county election commissions not later than Feb. 5 2012. The county election commissions will submit the preliminary lists of electors on the relevant constituencies to the CEC until April 5 2012.
The CEC will specify a single list of voters in the republic. This process is expected to complete until May 5 2012. Afterwards, a single list of voters of the republic will be posted on the CEC official website and presented to the public.
In 2011, the number of Azerbaijani voters increased by 27,095 people. According to the current list, about 4,873,642 voters have been registered in Azerbaijan.
