09 January 2012 [16:32] - TODAY.AZ
The new OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Irish Deputy Prime Minister, Eamon Gilmore, will present the Irish Chairmanship's priorities to the OSCE Permanent Council on Jan. 12 in Vienna. These priorities include enhancing the work of the OSCE in conflict resolution and upholding media freedoms and freedom of expression in the digital age, as well as strengthening co-operation between the 56 OSCE participating States, OSCE official website reported.

Ireland took over the annual rotating OSCE Chairmanship on Jan. 1 from Lithuania. Ukraine will hold the Chairmanship in 2013. The Permanent Council is one of the OSCE's main regular decision-making bodies. It convenes weekly in Vienna to discuss developments in the OSCE area and to make decisions.
