Tensions rise in opposition camp

Representatives of the Azerbaijani opposition camp got confused following the resignation of Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) Press-Secretary Ali Orujov from his post.  ANIP Secretary General Arzukhan Alizade took over Orujov’s duties.
 
However, Orujov himself denied reports about his resignation. "The dismissal reports contradict the reality. No official document was signed in this regard,” he said.
 
In turn, Alizade said that he personally accepted Orujov’s resignation following his speech at the meeting of the ANIP Central Council. Alizade added that he highly appreciates the activities of Orujov and Orujov remains as ANIP member.
