PACE hails pardon decree signed by Azerbaijani president

PACE rapporteur on political prisoners in Azerbaijan Christoph Strasser welcomed pardon decree signed by Azerbaijani president on the eve of New Year. Strasser assessed release of Mehman Mammadov, Jabbar Savalan and Nizami Shahmuradov as progress in political prisoners’ issue: “I am very glad that these 3 persons, listed in temporary list of political prisoners, have been released. It is a step taken in right direction”
