Hundreds of shoppers braved the rain in their underwear yesterday in the hopes of winning free clothes. As part of a promotion for their summer collection, fashion brand Desigual offered a free outfit to the first 100 people who showed up to their Regent Street branch in London wearing only their underwear.
The first hopefuls arrived as early as 11pm on Thursday night, and by Friday morning there were believed to be around 300 people queueing in only their bare essentials.
"I have been queuing from 2am this morning," a 22-year-old girl told the Evening Standard. "It's been amazing, a little cold but definitely worth it to get some free clothes."
Once the shop opened, the first 100 guests were allowed to select a top and trousers for free and then left wearing their new clothes.
However, Desigual also rewarded the rest of the participants by offering them 50% off the summer collection as well as a goodie bag.
The Spanish fashion label ran the same promotional stunt in several other European cities including Stockholm, Amsterdam and Berlin.
