Azeri musicians` performance aroused interest in Ramatuelle classical music festival in France

The Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev has opened the 2nd Ramatuelle classical music festival in France supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The orchestra conducted by People`s artist Teymur Goychayev performed music pieces by prominent Azerbaijani composers, such as Gara Garayev, Fikrat Amirov, Arif Malikhov, Farhad Badalbayli, Tofig Guliyev, Vagif Mustafazade and world classics - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Claude-Achille Debussy.

Azerbaijan People`s Artist Murad Adigozalzade`s performance aroused keen interest in the concert. President of Ramatuelle classic music festival Roland Kayn officially opened the ceremony. Executive director of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov read out a letter of the Azerbaijan first lady, President of the Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva to participants.

The letter stressed the festival serves the popularization of Azerbaijani and world classic music.

“Azerbaijan has ancient and reach music traditions and the country occupies a special place among the world music culture. Country`s culture is popularized and gains successes in the international arena thanks to Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s support and care. Azerbaijan also hosts different international cultural events. International Mugham, Gabala International Music and Rostropovich festivals made huge contribution to the world music”.

The letter underlined the Azerbaijan triumph at the Eurovision 2011 song contest. The festival will last till Friday.
