Fourth International Gara Garayev Modern Music Festival wrapped up in Baku

A closing ceremony for the Fourth International Festival of Modern Music dedicated to the great Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev, took place at the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall.

Deputy Minister of culture and tourism of Azerbaijan Adalat Valiyev addressed the ceremony. He said that the festival has brought together musicians from 10 countries. During the week the participants of the festival played concerts in Baku. The program of the festival featured works of 50 composers.

The closing ceremony featured the Uzeir Hajibeyli Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Prof. Rauf Abdullayev. The soloist Patricia Kopatchinskaya (Switzerlans) performed musical compositions by Austrian composer Alban Berg, Gara Garayev and Faradzh Garayev.
