Beckham 'considering £25m hotel deal'

26 January 2010 [16:13] - TODAY.AZ
Victoria Beckham has reportedly been offered a £25m deal to help design a luxury hotel in Dubai.

The former Spice Girl was approached for the project by Dubai's ruler Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, The Mirror claims.

Beckham is thought to have met Maktoum for the first time last summer during a holiday in the Persian Gulf with husband David. If she accepts his offer, she is expected to team up with designer Karl Lagerfield and put her name to the hotel on Isla Moda, known as Dubai's 'Fashion Island'.

A source said: "Even in these credit-crunched times, the fee offered to Victoria was astronomical. She was absolutely stunned."

Revealing that Beckham has not yet decided whether to take part, the insider added: "She's not just going to put her name to anything for money. It has to be a fantastic project.

"The other stumbling block is time. As ever, she is simply so busy being a mum and tied down with her own fashion collection. It's a very tempting offer, nonetheless."

A spokesperson for the star commented: "Victoria is always keen to look at ways of growing her business, but for now her focus is New York fashion week next month."
