Baku’s Museum Center will open its doors for the 3rd Baku International "Fusion Doll” Biennale this autumn.

The event, scheduled for November 5-10, is made possible with support from the Culture and Tourism Ministry, the Museum Center and, the Doll Art Gallery.

The first biennale was held in Baku in 2011 and the second in 2013, which featured masters from Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Latvia, Georgia, Belarus, Belgium, Czech, Estonia, Germany, Kazakhstan, and Israel.

The venue for the exhibition is located at Neftchiler avenue, 123a.

The organizers hope to attract partners for long-term, fruitful cooperation with Azerbaijan, which has a long tradition and already achieved successes in puppetry and creating ethnographic and folk dolls.

These dolls are designed for contemplation, not for play. Making such a doll with one’s own hands is a creative and time-consuming process, which requires special attention to detail, patience, artistic taste, and art education.

To popularize this style of art, the “Dolls Gallery” was the opened in Baku in 2013, which is the only one of its kind in the entire South Caucasus. The role of the gallery should not be underestimated, as it has attracted the attention of leading doll masters, collectors, and gallery owners from around the world.
