A photo exhibition called “Focus on Heritage” supported by the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism and organized by Embassy of Italy here opened at the Museum Center on Tuesday. Opening the event, Azerbaijani deputy minister of Culture and Tourism Sevda Mammadaliyeva provided information on the exhibition.
“A cooperation agreement in cultural spheres was signed between the two countries in 2002. Italian ambassador and employees of the Embassy actively participate in the country`s cultural events. In its turn, the Italian side also tries to familiarize Azerbaijani citizens with Italian culture and nature. From this view point, the photo exhibition “Focus on Heritage” is very important,” Sevda Mammadaliyeva added.
Ambassador Mario Giorgio Stefano Baldi expressed his gratitude for the support to the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The photo exhibition dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Italian unification was attended by cultural workers, art figures and representatives of diplomatic corps accredited to the country.
The exhibition describing the extraordinary historic, landscapes` and archeological beauties of Italy gives visitors the opportunity of making a “virtual” tour through the 43 UNESCO sites existing in Italy. The photo exhibition lasts till February 2 represents also a vivid example of the close tie binding Italy and the beauty.
