Baku opens doors to FutureShorts festival

The Future Shorts project,the largest festival of short films and animation, which is famous for the most extensive network of short film screenings of art in the world, will be presented in Baku for the first time. The event will run at the UNS Theater in Baku on Jan.27.

The international network of FutureShorts consists of 17 countries and festival took place in countries such as Russia, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Canada, Australia and others.

The Future Shorts project launched in 2003 is now turned into the first global festival of pop-up and shows the most vivid and fascinating examples of short films. It is noteworthy that, any individual, in the process of globalization,  can shoot a movie anywhere in the world and thereby become a link in the chain of world movie network.

Currently, the festival takes place in more than 55 countries and 145 cities with over 140 screenings, showcasing a single programme of the best short films often alongside live music, DJs and art.

The Baku festival’s program includes the Oscar-winning work of the American director Luc Mezeni - God of Love, the Deeper than Yesterday film directed by Ariel Kleiman – the German winner of the Golden Bear at Berlin Film Festival, and the unique nine-minute animation Deer Eagleman created in the technique of stop-motion by the British director Michael Please.
