Azerbaijan increases power generation

Azerenergy, which deals with power generation and distribution in Azerbaijan, produced about 17.9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in January-November compared to over 16.7 billion kilowatt-hours during the same period last year, the company said on Monday.

About 15.4 billion kilowatt-hours of the total generated electricity fell to thermal stations in January-November whilst about 2.5 billion kilowatt-hours accounted for hydropower plants.

In November Azerenergy generated over 1.9 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, over 1.7 billion kilowatt hours of which accounted for thermal power plants, while about 0.2 billion kilowatt hours - for hydropower plants. During the reporting period electricity overflow was carried out with Russia, Iran, Georgia and Turkey
