The fifth conference of joint commission on trade and commercial co-operation between the government of Azerbaijan and Federal Council of Switzerland will be held in Baku on Dec. 8, the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan reported on Tuesday.

The meeting will focus on status of economic co-operation between the countries, work done over the results of the commission's forth conference, and prospects for expanding relations. The co-chairman of the commission are Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafaev and Board member of Swiss Secretariat of State on economic issues Erich Martin.

The Azerbaijani-Swiss business-forum took place in Baku in October. Switzerland's counselor of state, the minister of economy and public health of Geneva Canton Pere-Fransua Unger in his speech stated that Switzerland is ready to share with Azerbaijan the experience in the sphere of industry, education and public health.

The foundation of co-operation between Azerbaijan and Switzerland has been laid down. Unger made special mention of trade mission's activity of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan), located in Geneva, as well as work on joint production of cement in Garadakh district, Baku.
