Baku Steel Company, Siemens sign contract to supply equipment

Steel company Baku Steel Company, which intends to invest 15 million euros in the reconstruction of production, signed a contract with the German company Siemens to replace an existing furnace by a new improved 50-ton furnace, the company said on Tuesday.

Installation of the new furnace in the first phase of production reconstruction will create conditions for increased work on the first area of the plant from 350,000 to 500,000 tons.
In addition to the new furnace, dust and smoke suppression installations will be replaced.

This equipment is fully automated and has a mechanism to automatically control the emission of harmful substances. The new project of Baku Steel Company will provide an opportunity to increase production to 1.1 million tons, and will bring the company into line with modern European steel plants.
