Azerbaijan`s Agro Information Center joins International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements

The Agro Information Centre of Azerbaijan (AIC) has become a member of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM). A membership certificate has been presented to the AIM in the central office of IFOAM in Vienna, Austria. IFOAM is the worldwide umbrella organization for the organic movement, uniting more than 750 member organizations in 116 countries.

IFOAM actively participates in international agricultural and environmental negotiations with the United Nations and multilateral institutions to further the interests of the organic agricultural movement worldwide. IFOAM is uniquely recognized for taking on this important role. The introduction of the Principles of Organic Agriculture and the recognition of IFOAM by international institutions is of enormous importance for the further development of Organic Agriculture.

The Agro Information Centre of Azerbaijan (AIM) is a national, non-sectarian, non-political, not-for-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). It was registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 16, 1999.

AIM`s overall objective is to improve the productivity and self-reliance of newly established private farmers through agricultural extension, information dissemination, and the establishment of institutional infrastructure supporting the rural/agricultural sector.
