Baku Telephone Communications Production Association of the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry began work on updating payphone services, the Ministry Spokesman Mushfig Amirov said.
Amirov said that the project is planned to be completed by mid-2012. New payphones will be installed along Baku’s central streets and, in the future, along the capital’s suburbs.
Payphone telephone services enable making outgoing local, intercity, and international calls. Services through payphones are provided using both coins and operator payphone chip cards.
Devices can be used within the operator's network, are resistant to weather conditions, and have less possibility of breakage.
