"AZN 2 bln will be invested to the completing process of Winter Olympics Complex in Gusar"

AZN 2 bln will be invested to the full completing process of Winter Olympics Complex which will be opened in Gusar, said Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev at the event held in the Press Council.

Garayev said that a tended was declared to this project for the involvement of international capital to his project.

According to the minister, the measures, which are taken in Gusar on tourism’s development, will seriously influence the decrease of unemployment’s level.

Garayev said that the state created wide opportunities for the purpose of developing the hotel sector: “If there was a hotel for 6000 people in the country in 2001, at present moment the hotel sector can serve 35 548 people”.

More 6 new hotels will be opened till the end of this year. Minister said that the investigation of the domestic tourism will be started for the first time in Azerbaijan this year. This project will be implemented jointly with the World Tourism Organization: “Sometimes the businessmen construct tourism facility or hotel without consulting with the corresponding organization.

Serious problems appear during the familiarization with that facility. In this case we don’t give them a license. Then they start to analyze it differently”.

Garayev said that the construction of Gobustan Museum of History will be finished till the end of this year.
