ATAZ Baku office to promote Austrian-Azerbaijani cooperation

The Baku office of the Azerbaijani-Austrian Chamber of Commerce (ATAZ) will be opened today, ATAZ Baku office Executive Director Tural Bagirzade told journalists.

"The office has already passed the state registration, and will be aimed to promote cooperation in the humanitarian, economic and cultural spheres. The office will work to promote the growth of direct investment between the two countries," he said.

Bagirzade said the office will mainly help support the non-oil sector, ICT, waste management, development of alternative energy sources, new technologies and joint projects, as well as serve as an information exchange.

"It is expected that we will launch several projects in the culture, humanitarian and economic fields by late 2011. They will help to encourage the Austrian companies to participate in various tenders in Azerbaijan and up investment, both direct and mixed," he said.
