"New Customs Code of Azerbaijan has been developed in line with European standards"

One of the major innovations of the document approved by Azerbaijani President recently is the beginning of independent economic operators and application of E-government, said chairman of State Customs Committee.

“Independent economic operators will operate on the basis of a license issued by the State Customs Committee”.

It should be noted that economic operators will be able to carry out customs registration, which is a more modern form than the work of customs brokers.

According to words of Aliyev, the other important innovations of the Customs Code are the introduction of electronic declaration, the use of electronic signatures, etc.

He added that the current Customs Code was adopted 14 years ago.
