Azerbaijan studies foreign experience on calculation of harmful gas emissions into atmosphere

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) vice-president on Ecology Rafiga Huseynzadeh visited London.

According to SOCAR, she met with London-2012 International Olympic Program director on BP Seve Kyriacou, within the visit. The issue on support of Azerbaijani sportsmen by BP was discussed at the meeting. Kyriacou noted that, BP would give 4,000 transport facilities for services in Olympic participants and offered to reduce the harmful gas emission into atmosphere and prepare calculation method of gas emissions. The proposal was adopted and the presentation was decided to hold in first half of September, in Baku or London.

Vice-president of National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzadeh and Director of SOCAR’s representative in Great Britain Rufat Afandiev also attended the meeting.

Thereafter, Afandiev has met with HSE Manager at BP Austin Hayes. Presentation of Shahdeniz 2 project on ecological issues was held at the meeting. Important technical issues were discussed at the meeting. Second stage of discussions are planned to hold at the end of September, in BP-Azerbaijan Copmany’s Office.
