
Today, interactive business-session between Azerbaijani and Indian business has started in Baku.
The event was organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Indian Embassy to Baku and AEC. Near 20 Indian businessmen attend the event. Indian delegation includes businessmen engaging in pharmacology, health and vegetable products, agriculture and processed food products, weaving, construction material production and chemical products spheres.
Indian ambassador to Azerbaijan Debnath Shaw spoke about India’s interest in Azerbaijan’s natural resources and noted that their businessmen intend to cooperate with non-oil sector.
AEC President Mammad Musayev noted that, the trade turnover between two countries rose by 6 times to $ 335 mln during past 5 years.
Sheila Sudhakaran, Assistant Secretary General of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, spoke about development of India’s economy and noted that local companies extend their activity in other countries. According to her, there are some Indian companies in Azerbaijan and they operate in software sphere. Some companies operate in India too.
She also noted that, Indian businessmen interest in Azerbaijan’s agriculture, information technologies, telecommunication, banking sector and pharmacology spheres.
Business structures of the both countries – FICCI and AEC have signed a agreement on cooperation.
