
The Odessa-Brody oil pipeline will daily pump 23,000 tons of Azerbaijani oil for Belarus, Belarusian BelTA agency quotes CJSC Belarusian Oil Company spokesman Andrei Sinitsa, as reporting.
A contract for the supply of oil from Azerbaijan signed between the Belarusian Oil Company and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). Under the contract, about four million tons of oil will be supplied in 2011. Oil will be delivered to the port “South”, and then by the “Odessa–Brody” and "Drujba" pipelines to the Mozyr oil refinery. A contract for pumping hydrocarbon raw material using the Odesa -Brody pipeline was signed between CJSC Belarusian Oil Company and JSC Ukrtransnafta.
Azerbaijani oil will be supplied to Belarus simultaneously with the supply of raw material from Venezuela.
The trial pumping of 80,000 tons of oil using the Odesa - Brody oil pipeline in the averse regime and the “Mozyr – Brody” section of the "Drujba" oil pipeline in reverse mode was carried out in November 2010.
The Odessa-Brody oil transportation project sought to diversify oil supplies to Ukrainian refineries and develop the country's transit potential. The pipeline's construction was completed in May 2002. Its trunk has a length of 674 kilometers, with a pipe diameter of 1,020 millimeters. The capacity of the pipeline and the terminal is 9-14 million tons per year during the first stage.
The Mozyr oil refinery was put in operation in 1975. It was transformed into the JSC in 1994. The share of the Belarusian Republic is 42.7% in the authorized capital, JSC Slavneft – 42.6%, others - 14.7%. The plant’s main activities are oil refining, production and marketing of oil products. The share of certified products in total production is about 95%.
