SOCAR launches 6th filling station in Azerbaijan

SOCAR has put into operation the sixth gas station in Azerbaijan today. The new filling station is located on Zikh highway, Baku. Rovnag Abdullayev, the head of the company, attended the opening ceremony.

In total, SOCAR plans to open 26-30 filling stations in Azerbaijan. The demand for lubricants increased by 4 percent on the Azerbaijani domestic market in Jan.-Nov. compared to 2009.

According to the State Statistics Committee, over 3.6 million tons of oil was delivered to the domestic market of Azerbaijan in January-November (3.8% more than in January-November last year), the State Statistics Committee reported.

Over 961,700 tons of oil products fell to motor petrol. Petrol was sold on the domestic market most of all. Petrol was sold 6.3% more than in Jan.-Nov. 2009. The wholesale cost of 1 ton of A-92 petrol (including delivery and VAT) is 670 manat, A-95 - 736 manat on the domestic market of Azerbaijan.
