Roland Kobia, Ambassador, Head of EU Delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan and EU’s Permanent Representative in the Caspian-European Integration Business Club, received Telman Aliyev, President and CEO of the Caspian European Integration Business Club (CEIBC).
During the meeting the Ambassador stressed CEIBC’s special role in implementation of integration projects, in particular, in promoting the establishment of dialogue between business representatives of EU and Caspian-Black Sea region countries.
Aliyev said that the current number of CEIBC member companies reaches 500, representing 50 countries. He also spoke about the plans to increase this number up to 1000 in the soon future and in to 5000 (basically from EU, CIS and GUAM countries) by 2012, when the 10th anniversary of CEIBC will be celebrated.
He also informed Kobia that meetings with Heads of State and Governments of EU, CIS and GUAM countries are held in conformity with the plan approved by CEIBC’s Honorary Chairman Ilham Aliyev. Telman Aliyev spoke about the forthcoming visit to Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and Turkey.
According to T.Aliyev, an organization will be created in Brussels to promote CEIBC activity within the territory of the EU. This organization will represent interests of CEIBC and Caspian Energy IMG within the territory of the EU countries.
During the meeting Kobia suggested CEIBC officials to organize international business-forums and conferences, with participation of top-managers of large companies and CEIBC-member companies in the countries of the Caspian-Black Sea and Baltic regions. This will raise CEIBC’s international status, enhance the investment climate, and help the development of small and medium business.
