Official reception held in Baku on 17th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference

Opening the event, UK ambassador Caroline Brown stressed the importance of the Exhibition and Conference. Touching upon the relationship between UK and Azerbaijan Mrs. Brown said her country attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan. She also recalled that the UK was the largest foreign direct investor in Azerbaijan.

Attending the event, Special Envoy of the United States Secretary of State for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstar said the “conference symbolizes the importance of the energy sector and we are working towards the same end, very strong Azerbaijani sector.”

“I have been coming to Baku for fifteen years and continue to be amazed by the progress that I see when I come hear.”

He emphasized the “importance of strategic relationship between the United States and Azerbaijan,” adding “this goes beyond energy to many other sectors”. The reception was attended by officials, MPs, diplomats and journalists.
