Azerbaijan gets new tanker

The State Commission of Azerbaijan has received a new Shusha tanker, built in the Russian shipyard Krasnoe Sormovo (Nizhny Novgorod) upon the order of the Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (CSC). It is planned to launch this ship next mid-week, the CSC said on Oct. 9.
Contract with CSC on tanker-13,000 was signed on June 2008. Tanker was built earlier contracted term. Official handover of the tanker was in mid-September. The delivery term under the contract is late 2009.

Tankers of project-19619 refer to river-sea and designated for crude oil and oil products transportation. They are equipped with 12 freight tanks and a settling tank. They have ballast compartments in double boards and bottom. Length of tanker is 150 meters, width - 17.30 meters, heights of board - 10.5 meters, deadweight - more than 13,000 tons. It is maximal for ship that can be easily exploited in the Caspian Sea without reequipping of port terminals. Non-interaction hits 20 days. These are the biggest oil-loading ships exploited in the Caspian Sea.

Construction of tanker corpus of this project and their management give absolute guarantee of accident-free exploitation. All ecologic requirements of the region are fulfilled immediately. Conformity with all requirements of the international conventions on prevention of environment pollution allows tankers exploiting in special regions of seas of Western Europe with high ecologic requirements.

For the Caspian Shipping Compan, Krasnoe Sormovo has built 7 tankers of the 19619 project: President Heydar Aliyev, Babek, Shah Ismail Khatai, Koroglu, Dede Gorgud, Zangazur and Shusha. Contract with CSC on the first tankers-13,000 was concluded in 2002. The sixth contract on Zangazur with CSC was signed in January 2008. The sixth Zangazur tanker was included by the British Royal Society for the ship's engineers in the list of large vessels in 2008.

The Caspian Shipping Company provides transportation of cargo, with predominance of oil and petroleum products. Navigation area: the Caspian Sea, Black Sea, the Mediterranean, the Marmara Sea. Ships of the Caspian Shipping Company, floating in the Black Sea-Azov basin, transport goods of foreign charterers to the ports of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Sea and oil and gas project group is company managing shipping projects. The group covers the plant of Krasnoe Sormovo (Nizhniy Novgorod), Volgograd shipping plant, as well as Sormovo machine-building (Nizhniy Novgorod) and Volgograd plat of special machine building.
