Azerbaijani national has become one of the leaders of the World Bank, largest financial organization worldwide.

In late Aug. 2009, Azerbaijani national Samir Suleymanov was appointed chief of policy and corporate governance department of the World Bank.
He will focus on strategic issues of the World Bank which today is the largest international financial institution and part of the UN system.
WB is the largest financier of projects of economic and social development in countries with transition economies and developing countries.
Samir Suleymanov has worked at the World Bank since 1999. Recently he held strategically important position - head of World Bank programs in Russia.
