SOCAR, Botas to continue talks on Azerbaijani gas prices in August

The next stage of negotiations between Azerbaijani SOCAR and Turkish Botas on volume and price of Azerbaijani gas exported to Turkey as a part of the Shah Deniz-I will be held in early August, the SOCAR Web site said.
The negotiations on volume and price of the Azerbaijani gas sold to Turkey are intense. According to agreement between Botas and SOCAR, the next stage of talks involving representatives from both companies will be held in early August in Nakhchivan.

At present there is great interest in the purchase of gas produced from fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.

Talks on this issue are underway with several countries. Russia, Iran, Syria and some European countries are interested in Azerbaijani gas.

Negotiations between Botas and SOCAR focus on export of Azerbaijani gas and changing the price of gas sold to Turkey as a part of the Shah Deniz –I .

New price for the gas exported to Turkey has not been determined yet. But value of the fuel exported since April 15, 2008 will be calculated by a new formula.

Gas production as a part of the Shah Deniz-II will start in 2012-2013.
