Some private companies hamper creation of trade unions

18 June 2009 [14:42] - TODAY.AZ
Transnational companies, functioning in Azerbaijan, mostly hamper the creation of trade unions, said chief of department of labor protection, chief technical inspector of labor at the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Vladimir Argutkin.

"Foreigners are already used to dictate their provisions while coming to Azerbaijan, while mistakes and inaccuracies are ommited, which are mostly related to Labor Code violation.

Unfortunately, we do not always manage to interfere with the activity of these organizations due to the absence of trade unions. Measures are taken in cases when we receive a complaint from any employee. It is good that the problems are declining in the enterprises which have trade unions".

State enterprises are exemplary in this sense. The oil sphere, including oil production and operation, could be attributed to the category of advanced ones. Almost all enterprises of communication, railroad and aviation are also considered demonstrative. Trade unions, which really work, are functioning in all of them.
