Baku's regional development plan under preparation

A large regional plan of development of Baku to involve the Absheron peninsula is being prepared, said chief of town building department of the Committee of Architecture and Town-Building of Azerbaijan Allahverdi Aliyev, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

Aliyev noted that it is impossible to prepare a separate plan of the capital development and a general plan for the development of overall Absheron is needed.

"Therefore, we are currently planning to prepare a single regional program for development of the Baku city to fix all elements. This document on the status will be supreme over the general plan of Baku", said the chief of department.

He said the plan is to be prepared within two years.

"The regional plan of the Baku development will be prepared in two years. $5 mln will be allocated for its preparation.

A tender on the said issue, involving 24 companies, including Azerbaijani companies, has already been declared", noted Aliyev.
