Turkish Botas plans to raise the daily volume of Azerbaijani gas importation from 8 mln cubic meters up to 12-15 mln cubic meters.
This step will be taken due to tensions in gas import, which emerged with Russia on the customs points. Currently Botas company has initiated maximal pumping of gas to gas reservoirs, locating in Silifka.
It is noted that if gas supplies from Iran are suspended again and Russian Gazprom refuses to provide additional supplies, the demand will be neutralized from these gas reservoirs and Azerbaijani gas.
Currently Turkey purchases 60% gas from Gazprom.
Moreover, Turkish side plans to build a gas reservoir in Turkmenistan. The due agreement was reached during the meeting of Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler and Turkmen president Qurbanqulu Berdimukhammedov and his Turmen counterpart in Ashkhabat, according to Azerbaijani ANS TV channel.
In the framework of the visit an agreement was reached about participation of the Turkish company in the oil and gas exploration developments in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
