Azerbaijan starts transporting oil via Iran

Iran has become a new transit route for exportation of energy sources from Azerbaijan.
Iran News reports with reference to Press-TV that Azerbaijan has sent the first oil shipment for transit supplies to Iran.

It should be reminded that oil supplies via Azerbaijan to western markets by BTC pipeline were suspended due to the pipeline explosion in Turkey and military actions in Georgia.

For this reason Azerbaijan has appealed to Iran for transit of its energy sources.
