Moore Stephens to prepare ninth EITI report on Azerbaijan

Results of the contest among auditing companies for development of the ninth report on EITI was held at the session of the selection group, comprising members of the governmental commission on Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and Coalition of nongovernmental organizations on EITI and oil companies, said a source from the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan.

The Selection Group unanimously selected Moore Stephens for development of the ninth report on EITI (the document covers the first half of 2008).

Notably, the selection group invited four famous auditor companies, including Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young and Moore Stephens for participation in the contest.

It should be noted that the first, second, fourth and fifth reports on EITI were prepared by Deloittle&Touche and the sixth and seventh by Moore Stephens.

The memorandum of understanding on EITI comprises 26 oil and gas companies. Azerbaijan joined the EITI in 2003. The governmental commission on EITI execution was created by the instruction of the Cabinet of Ministers in November of 2003.
