WB representative: "We are ready for cooperation with Azerbaijan on most projects"

The press service for the Economic Development Ministry that the sides discussed ties between WB and Azerbaijan, projects, implemented under WB support and prospects of cooperation.

Thompson spoke of the meetings, held in Azerbaijan. He said the main task of the meetings was definition of the trends of cooperation between WB and Azerbaijan.

He said WB is ready to cooperate on projects of seaport transfer from Baku, improvement of metropolitan and betterment of city infrastructure. He said WB has experience in restoration of the city infrastructure.

Thompson noted that WB is also interested in construction of incineration plant in Baku, as well as implementation of other large projects. In turn, Babayev noted that Azerbaijan and WB maintain fruitful cooperation.

He said French CNIM has become a winner of the tender for construction of the incineraton plant. The government of Azerbaijan and the company are now negotiating on conclusion of the contract.
