The Azerbaijan-Russia meeting of work groups, engaged in construction of North-South international transport corridor will be held in the capital of Azerbaijan on June 17-19, said spokesman for Azerbaijan's Railway Administration Nadir Azmamedov.
He said the meeting is expected to discuss construction of the secion of Qazvin-Resht-Astara railway section extending to 8.4 km and others.
The project of the international transport corridor envisions construction of a part of the Qazvin-Resht-Astara railroad in Azerbaijan, customs and checking points, wheel replacement points.
It should be noted that idea of forming the North-South transport corridor was put forward at the session of the chief of railway administrations of Russia, India and Iran on September 12 of 2000. Azerbaijan joined the project in 2005.
