Marlen Asgarov, Vice-President of AzerEnerji, said a site has been allotted for construction.
“This power plant will supply electricity to the Winter Sports Complex in the northern regions of Azerbaijan,” he added.
The contract covers design, delivery of equipment and supervision of the installation and operation of the plant for two years.
Wartsila has won orders for seven combined heat and power plants from AzerEnerji.
In 2005, AzerEnerji ordered five power plants with a combined output of 450 MWe, all based on multiple W?rtsil? 34SG gas-engined generating sets. Installation of these plants, located in
Astara, Baku, Khachmaz, Nakhchivan and Sheki, was completed by the end of 2006.
In October 2006, W?rtsil? was awarded a further contract for 18 W?rtsil? 50DF dual-fuel generating sets to be installed in a 300 MWe power station at Sangachal. This plant is to be completed in November 2008.
