The demand for gas has risen significantly in Iran due to cold weather, the country, therefore, was obliged to stop fuel export to Turkey.
"Iran is interested in raising volume of Azeri gas imports. This means a significant rise, at least by 10 times", the source reported.
According to Azerigaz, Azerbaijan supplies Nakhchivan with 1,000,000-1,200,000 cubic meters of gas daily via Iran and sells 1,000,000 cubic meters to Iran.
The current technical state of gas pipelines helps transport 2,000,000 cubic meters of gas to Iran per day.
