The need to intensify Iranian-Azerbaijani economic relations was stressed at a session of the Azerbaijani-Iranian business-forum held under the auspices of AZPROMO.

According to Day.Az, the session participants stressed the high level of cooperation between the sides and mentioned high potential for it.
"Our task is to raise Azerbaijani-Iranian relations to a new level", representative of Azerbaijan's Economic Development Ministry Huseyn Pashayev told a session.
He said investments into Azerbaijan neared $6,800,000,000, including 40% of foreign investments last year.
"At the same time, Iranian investments made up 1.3% which is 3 times higher as compared to 2006", Pashayev noted.
The official also said that the trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan made up $540,000,000 in 2007 which is40% higher as compared to the same period of 2006.
"This proves a good potential for cooperation", Pashayev noted.
