President of Azerbaijan inaugurates new road in Baku

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today attended the inauguration of a new road on the Nasib bey Yusifbeyli Street.

The Head of State familiarized with the design of the new road and scheme of traffic regulation.

Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed the Head of State that the four-lane road is 1.5 km in length and 16 meters in width.

“To convert this road into the avenue, we lengthened it to the Samad Vurgun Street in the Nasimi district. The buildings lying in the path of the road were demolished; narrow parts were widened; traffic lights and road signs were installed. Conditions were created for pedestrians to cross the road", the Minister said.

The road is to play an important role in calming traffic problems.

The Ministry is working on the project to build a new road from the Ganjlik square to the Tabriz Street.

It will ease traffic flow.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the work done, stressing that the new road was opened at the expense of the so-called Anten area.

Azerbaijani Leader stressed the need to build new roads in other places as well.
