Head of National Bank of Azerbaijan: "Azerbaijan balance of payments surplus to exceed $7,000,000,000"

The balance of payments surplus is expected to exceed $7,000,000,000 in Azerbaijan this year", Elman Rustamov, chairman of the Directors' Board of the National Bank of Azerbaijan, announced.
"Dollar supply continues to increase and strengthens the pressure on the national currency. The National Bank takes all measures available to maintain the manat exchange rate in order to prevent problems for local producers and exporters,” E.Rustamov noted.

According to him, the year-end manat strengthening is likely to measure 3-3.5%.
