GUAM Working Committee for Trade and Transport Facilitation Project meets in Baku

The GUAM working committee for Trade and Transport Facilitation Project met in Baku. The meeting was attended by officials of customs services of the member states.

The meeting focused on development of transit system among the GUAM members, ways of combating smuggling and terrorism, application of state-of-the-art IT systems, strengthening of rules of law in checkpoints and other related issues.

Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister, Araz Azimov, told the meeting that GUAM takes important part in international relations, and there are hopeful expectations from the June summit to be held in Azerbaijan.

He added that the summit will attract additional partners, like the United States, South Korea and Vietnam, to joint cooperation in infrastructural projects. APA-Economics
