Chief of Coordination Council of BTK railway project appointed

Guram Guramishvili, deputy director of Georgian Railways OJSC has been appointed chief of Coordination Council of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project.

Irakli Ezugbiya, director general of Georgian Railways OJSC told the APA Georgia bureau that Turkey is about to finish projecting of construction and tender will be announced for starting construction in Georgia.

Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project was debated at the 22nd conference of Railways Cooperation Organization in Tbilisi.

Irakli Ezugbiya said that the participants of the conference became interested in the project. "The majority of the participants are interested in the project. We are looking forward to Azerbaijan's report," he said.

Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev commissioned Georgia to appoint the chief of Coordination Council of BTK railway project.
