Baku holds forum to discuss use of Latvia's lesson in E-Government Establishment Program

Azerbaijan's Communications and Information Technologies Ministry has held a forum discussing use of Latvia's experience in implementation of E-Government State Program.

Azerbaijan's Minister for Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov and Latvian's Minister for Special Assignments for Electronic Government Affairs Ina Gudele had discussions over cooperation in establishment of E-Government in Azerbaijan and joint ICT projects.

He noted that Azerbaijan's fast economic growth is largely driven by a thriving energy sector and the government plans to increase ICT revenues to the level of petrodollars, adding that e-government will also remove the obsolete remains of soviet period in governance.

Ms. Ina Gudele said Latvia has great experience in building e-government, adding that her country have made all documentation and registration process electronic.

Latvian Minister also added that not also state agencies of Latvia but also business circles intend to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the e-government project. APA-Economics
