19 March 2007 [12:07] - TODAY.AZ
In April Azerbaijani, Iranian and Russian railroaders will have a trilateral meeting on North-South Transport Corridor in Baku.

Azerbaijan State Railway Company (ADDY) told that the meting will focus on the transport corridor construction works carried out in Iran and the current problems.

The trilateral meeting scheduled for December, 2006 was postponed until April.

Russia, Iran and India launched negotiations on establishment of the North-South Corridor in September, 2000 and final agreement was reached on May 11, 2002. Azerbaijan joined the project in 2005.

Despite problems, reconstruction of the railways in the territory of Azerbaijan has continued to progress. 8.3km railroad, 4 stations in 1050 meters each, a checkpoint, and other infrastructure will be constructed in Azerbaijan.

Construction of North-South Corridor is delayed amid the international atmosphere around Iran, APA reports.
