Final agreement on BTAK railroad project to be concluded in Tbilisi

Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey will sign a final agreement on Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalak-Kars strategic railroad link Feb 7.

Georgia Railway LLC Director General Irakli Ezugbaya told the APA that the document will be signed at the high-level by Georgia's President, Mikhail Saakashvili, President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recap Tayyip Erdogan.

Azerbaijan is going to extend a $200mln unsecured loan to Georgia's Marabda-Karsi Railroad LLC for 25 years at 1% interest rate annually to finance implementation of Georgian part of the project.

The project will start up in the second quarter of 2007.

Ilham Aliyev and Recap Tayyip Erdogan are expected to attend opening ceremony of Tbilisi International Airport on Feb 7.
