Turan Morali: "Turkey wants to import Azeri energy supplies"

20 December 2006 [11:09] - TODAY.AZ
New procedures have been developed for payment of the debt by Nakhchivan AR for the electricity imported from Turkey during 1990s, Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Turan Morali said.

He said that it is planned to amortize the debt by transferring electricity to Turkey.

The ambassador said that Turkey can export energy supplies to Azerbaijan via Georgia in ace of any problem in winter. "Turkey can export energy to Azerbaijan in the limited form for the limited period as Turkey need electricity. Turkey plans to import Azerbaijan's energy in future," he said.

Nakhchivan AR owes Turkey $160m for electricity imports, APA reports.
