Azerbaijan to fish 90ton of Caspian sturgeon

A sitting of a commission over a fishing in the Caspian Sea was held in Moscow.

The report of a the commission over a fishing in the Caspian Sea covered the total allowable catches and national quotas of aquatic bioresources in 2006, the protection and increase of bioresources.

Also the quota for 2007 was agreed and approvedEcology and Natural Resources Ministry press service chief Gulshen Huseynova told the APA.

Huseynova noted that, in Azerbaijan the quota for sturgeons kept as it was this year 90 tonnes (100%). This indicator for Turkmenistan is 286, 5 (111%), and for Iran 450 tone (90%). Total quota for Caspian sea contains 1071ton (96, 9%). The import and export quota for every type of fish and caviar is 102, 5%.

It should be noted that, the commission sent all the documents to Geneva, CITES Secretary for approval.
