Output of oil refineries grows by 4% in Azerbaijan

The State Statistic Committee told Kazakhstan Today correspondent that in the accounting period the growth of the output was marked in production of all types of oil products except for virgin petrol and black oil.

838.9 thousand tonnes of petrol were produced in January-October 2006 (13% growth), 610 thousand tonnes of kerosene (+ 0,1%), 1,788.6 thousand tonnes of diesel fuel (+ 4.2%), 62.2 thousand tonnes of lubricating oil (+ 2.1 times), 131.8 thousand tonnes of oil bitumen (+ 24.1%). 2,346.6 thousand tonnes of fuel oil (a fall by 6.2%) and 272.4 thousand tonnes of (-8.8%) of virgin petrol were produced as well.

Two refineries are operating in Azerbaijan - "Azerneftjag" (the capacity - 14 million tonnes of oil p.a.) and Baku refinery named after G. Aliyev (the capacity - 8 million tonnes of oil p.a.). Both ventures make part of the State Petroleum Company. Kazeta.Kz
